Republican nominee Lee Zeldin was assaulted during a campaign rally in the north of the state on Thursday the 21st new Yorkus United States, informed the local authority, adding that the attacker “had a gun and pointed it at Zeldin’s neck and told him, ‘It’s over'”. The team of politicians and those involved managed to immobilize the man until the agents arrived. As the attacker advanced on Zeldin, the two fought for a few seconds before those present intervened. Zeldin was speaking at a rally in the town of Perinton at 8pm (9pm GMT) when a 43yearold man took the stage and attacked him, according to a statement from the local commissioner. The candidate said via Twitter that he was fine. “Someone tried to stab me during tonight’s rally, but luckily I managed to grab his wrist and held him for a few moments before others attacked him,” Zeldin wrote.

His words when he tried to stab me a few hours ago were “You’re done” but several in attendance included @EspositoforNYjumped into action quickly & grabbed the guy.

The police were there within minutes.
