“There is educational work”
Lea Clermont-Dion commented on the case of Philippe Bond, highlighting the testimonies of the eight women who appear to be struggling to be heard.
In his text Bond and his power, the director questioned the fact that Bond is protected by his privileged social status.
“There is an absolute need for first responder attitudes to change, evolve and adapt to the era of time which is hopefully more lenient towards victims. Education needs to be done to deconstruct our unconscious biases that have serious implications for society. As evidence, a suspected and celebrated sex offender is still at large,” Léa Clermont-Dion said in her publication.
Remember that Philippe Bond retired from public life on July 21 after La Presse published an investigation highlighting the statements of eight women who claimed to have been victims of various assaults and misconduct.
The comments below the post were filled with thanks to the director for a message that will never be heard enough.
