Mario Fortino Alfonso Moreno Reyes, better known as Mario Moreno “Cantinflas” was considered one of the most famous Mexican actors in cinemawas characterized as one of the voices calling for better working conditions for the actors’ trade.
Now, 29 years after his death, they revealed for the first time what the last days of the famous life were like. Recall that Mario was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.
From that moment it was left to his son Mario Moreno Ivanova and his nephew Eduardo Moreno Laparade. However, little is known of his death, but the only descendant of Cantinflas revealed before his death that his father was said to be suffering from oesophageal cancer and not lung cancer as has been said, and that this was the case, which briefly worsened his health, since it was attached to the carotid artery.
Also, he confessed that despite the fact that the actor was in bed and had good days and bad days, Mario Moreno did not give up and continued his entire treatment in the United States. He also revealed that the artist was not fully conscious in the last few weeks of his life and sometimes couldn’t stand for even a few minutes.
Due to this situation, the actor had to be in a hospital where he only entered his room and days later lost the ability to self-satisfy his physiological needs, so he needed help with eating and bathing.
His son has assured that he was always with his father, but his cousin Eduardo contradicted him, even saying that Mario Moreno Ivanova’s personality was so changeable due to his drug addiction that he hit the actor.
Despite the fact that Cantinflas was fighting the disease, it got worse and his son made the decision to transfer him to Mexico so that he would die in his country, and on April 20, 1993 the so-called “mime from Mexico” died at home.
The comedian’s last wish was for his remains to be buried next to those of his wife, Valentina Ivanova Zukova, who died of bone cancer in 1966.
