(ANSA) — BOGOTA MARCH 28 — Francia Márquez, the vice-presidential formula of left-wing candidate Gustavo Petro, asked Colombian President Iván Duque for “security guarantees” for her, her family and a group of social leaders who have been threatened by leaflets from the so-called “Black Eagles”.
“Mr. President @IvanDuque, I ask you to guarantee my physical integrity, that of my family and of the leaders mentioned here,” the vice-presidential candidate for the Historic Pact, which brings together the coalition of left-wing parties, demanded on Twitter.
Along with the allegation, Márquez released the images of the two threatening writings from the Black Eagles, a far-right group whose members and leaders are unknown but usually sends messages of verbal violence and death warnings against social leaders, progressive politicians, and even drug addicts and prostitutes.
“The slanders, the racist demonstrations are not enough, but in less than a month they have twice threatened me with death, along with other social leaders,” the vice presidential candidate said on her Twitter.
Next to his name are the names of other left-wing politicians, social organizations and human and environmental activists who warn that the Black Eagles are “military targets”. (ANSA).
