“I wanted to be able to test my own feelings about the changing body,” said the Tony Award winner, “without other people telling me how they saw me, whether it was positive or negative.”

Johansson is also the mother of Rose’s daughter, six, from a previous marriage.

Johansson, 37, said her pregnancy had helped her realize how much pressure she was putting on pregnant women.

It is especially challenging when someone is struggling with conflicting emotions.

The actress said that even some of her closest friends did not quite understand it.

“It’s weird how many things people put on you when you’re pregnant – their hopes, judgments or desires, a lot of them put on pregnant women,” the icon said.

“I’d like a lot of people to tell me things right away, like ‘How great, oh my God, that’s wonderful.’

“And while I was definitely excited to be pregnant in some way, I also had a lot of great feelings about it, and that would be carefully considered by – I’m talking about women who were close to me.

You expect it from men, but from women it’s like, “Come on, girl, you’ve been through it.”

The host of “Marriage Story” revealed that at least one friend has given her the support she needs.

A friend, when I told her I was pregnant – she knew I was trying to get pregnant – she just said, “Oh, hell. Great, but not great. And I said to myself, “You’re a real friend.”

Also this week, Scarlett was seen talking about her skincare line The Outset on Instagram. She said the skincare game had become “complicated”, so she started a line that “reduced the noise”.

She likes the “lightness of simplicity” with the line.

And she says the line is easy to pair with other items because there are no parabens or sulfates in the mix.

Johansson said she had been working on the project for five years because she wanted the product to be safe.
