Mexico for revitalizing theatrical activity following the decline of Covid-19

The facility reports on its website a meeting with members of the theater community from different parts of the country to further the commitment to dialogue and listening with cultural agents.

The meeting took place in what is now the Los Pinos cultural complex (former presidential residence in the Bosque de Chapultepec) with the Minister of Culture, Alejandra Frausto Guerrero, who represented the theater movement with proposals such as the support system for the so-called Afroramaturgy.

His main concern was that, in his opinion, everything necessary was not being done to support productions that showcase the history and life of the Afro-Mexican community.

Rebeca Moreno, a producer of plays, commented that it was the first time that private theater entrepreneurs had the opportunity to make productions in collaboration with the federal government and it was important, as part of the support given the suspension of activities due to the health Emergency. .

Composer and pedagogue Félix Bailón recognized the opening to dialogue as that led by Frausto, making a comprehensive statement on the 51 musical groups in the country, aimed at girls and boys, organized in acute moments of the pandemic, an initiative that she called «Spring of Childhood».

For her part, the secretary reiterated that building actions in favor of the cultural and artistic community can only be done hand in hand with people, for which she recognized the interest and efforts of the participants of the meeting.

He explained that the unit he leads works in such a way that the performing arts, groups and projects are known beyond their place of origin and reach new audiences. To this end, they have developed new mechanisms that enable and promote cultural cycles.

He referred to the larger project Chapultepec, Nature and Culture, covering the fourth section of the forest, a plan of great vitality at national level that will strengthen the development of this socially essential and necessary sector.
