The images of the child interacting as another police agent were possible thanks to the initiative of make a wishan American organization that has been working to grant the wishes of more than 300,000 seriously ill children around the world since 1980.

“Today we are very happy to have Daniel as our boss for the day. We have planned a fun day for you to get together and take a tour of our station and our specialized units. Have fun, boss,” Miami Police said on Twitter of Tuesday’s unusual visit.

Make-A-Wish reported that Daniel DJ is a 10-year-old boy from the state of Texas who is battling a brain tumor and has long dreamed of becoming a police officer.

The little boy was given a tailored uniform and was sworn in for a day as a volunteer chief, which allowed him to escort law enforcement officers through the streets of Miami in a squad car.
