After three weeks, the Big Brother 24 narrative has finally changed. Some of the houseguests have become obsessively focused on isolating and targeting Taylor, but when Daniel and Nicole blew up Taylor this week, it started a ripple in the game that led to the formation of a new alliance. And the house is about to be turned upside down.
Wednesday night’s episode picks up right after the nomination ceremony. Tuner just nominated Brittany and Michael and he lets us know that if his nominations stay the same, Brittany would be the target, but there might be a bigger fish to fry with Taylor.
And Nicole lets us know that’s her goal. Not only does she want Taylor gone, she wants any power or reward she would get for surviving the eviction and losing her Festie Beast.
Ameerah also wants Taylor to be behind the door. So she goes to Turner and lets him know that Taylor said she wants to attack men if she wins HOH. Ameerah says she would even veto Michael and Brittany.
Turner believes prosecuting Taylor would be the easiest way to keep blood off his hands. And Nicole confirms to Turner that she’s okay with going upstairs (of course she is because she wants that power).
But then Joseph, Kyle, Monte and Turner meet up in the HOH room to talk about Pooch’s blind side last week. And Kyle lets the boys know that Alyssa told him about the girls working together. Joseph says they need to start dating the girls or they’ll all be next when Taylor leaves this week. And then Kyle reminds the boys that Taylor isn’t with the other girls and they want her more than anything. So sending Taylor out obviously only helps the girls.
Then the conversation turns to Ameerah. Joseph mentions how close Ameerah came to winning things and says that Ameerah or Nicole have a good chance of winning this whole game. And then the wheels start turning.
Kyle says if the veto is used, Turner could set up Ameerah and Terrance and they could target Ameerah. Kyle says he’s sure he can drag Michael and Brittany in, and then they drag Taylor in too since she was alone the whole time.
So this group of guys forms The Pound, named after their fallen Bro Pooch.
It’s time to select players for the veto contest. Turner/Jasmine, Michael/Brittany are joined by Taylor/Nicole. Oops. That’s not what most people wanted with this draw. Nicole even tells us in the diary that she might have to throw the contest. But then Turner reveals that just because you survive eviction night it’s not safe next week. Nicole is now less interested in the idea of throwing the veto, but says she will do it anyway to get Taylor out.
Nicole, having to veto, starts to get on her nerves, so she has an emotional moment and tearfully tells the others to leave the room. The other houseguests worry that Nicole might bring bad news about her mother. But it’s really just that she has to throw the competition. Nicole also says she didn’t really have a problem with Taylor. However, Daniel tells her that Taylor influences his game. So Nicole says that’s all she needs to know and that’s what needs to be done. Daniel even says he doesn’t see Taylor as a good person. Nicole says she doesn’t either, adding that Taylor is an easy gun. Meanwhile, out there in the other room, Taylor is worried about Nicole and even asks Monte to say a prayer for Nicole.
So Taylor checks Nicole. Taylor says whatever Nicole has to do to do it. Taylor says if there’s a point you need to tap out, don’t worry. Nicole thinks Taylor is trying to get her to stop. She says she doesn’t need anyone telling her to back off.
Nicole then leaves and tells Daniel that Taylor was passive aggressive and was trying to get her to stop. And Daniel gets really mad. He already had a big problem with Taylor for unknown reasons, which upsets him. And Daniel confronts her. He tells her to stop her forgery. He says she can flee immediately and not speak to him again.
Taylor doesn’t even know what’s going on and at first thought it was a joke. She’s really confused by all of this. He then addresses Taylor, blaming her for making Paloma leave the game. And tells her not to talk to Nicole like that. No one understands why Daniel reacts the way he does.
Nicole steps in and tells Taylor she needs to learn how to talk to people. Joseph lets us know in the DR that he never saw Taylor do that to anyone.
OK, enough of this Daniel and Nicole mess. Let’s move on to veto competition. This week, players must climb a tree to complete a puzzle on their tree. One player will be on the ground, one in the air. The pair that completes the puzzle first wins the veto.
And then for some reason (it’s not just her laziness) Jasmine passes out and can’t compete. So only two couples will compete. This should be easy.
And it was.
Michael and Brittany win the right of veto! And Turner’s plan to put Ameerah behind the door is one step closer.
But there are still a few more steps to take. Enter Joseph. He knows that after what happened to Daniel and Taylor, he will start recruiting Michael and Brittany while Monte is recruiting Taylor. They all meet in the HOH room and discuss the plan. Kyle tells Taylor that he’s so sick of the way she’s been treated, and that’s why he’s so passionate about it. And they are all below. And so The Leftovers were born.
We’re not getting the Veto Ceremony tonight, but if you want to find out how it went down, check out our Veto Ceremony spoilers.
