For the past few hours, Instagram has been the scene of a question-and-answer session from the artist and the leader of the Brothers of Italy (a party that, according to recent polls, seems poised for victory in the next political elections on September 25).
The dispute was initiated by the singer, who shared in the Stories a meme that played on the homonymy between the two and the catchphrase “I am Giorgia”, created by the two Milanese DJs MEM & J after an intervention by Meloni and went viral became.

There was no lack of reaction from the leader of the Brothers of Italy. Still on her profile’s Stories on Instagram, Meloni shared a screenshot of Giorgia’s post with this sentence: “I find Giorgia’s voice extraordinary. I’ve always enjoyed listening to it without being forced to. Just like she doesn’t have to listen to me if she doesn’t like me. It’s democracy, that’s how it works and that’s why it’s beautiful. But the artist and I are definitely different in one thing: if I didn’t like her music or her voice, I wouldn’t need to insult her.”
