Kevinho was one of the many artists who criticized MTV Meow after the 2022 edition took place without several nominees knowing the day of the award ceremony, among other things. The singer explained that he called the award armed because he was duped by the production in 2018 when he was told he won the categories he was competing in, which was not true.
“When I left they said I WON the categories I ran in before I left, I got there and introduced myself. They made me wait in the dressing room for hours, the deal ended and I didn’t win anything, they just made a fool of me,” he said.
The column noted that this happened in 2018 when the singer performed alongside Tropkillaz. This year he competed in six categories: Icon MIAW; Music artist; Sleight of hand. of the year; swarm of the year; super squad; and anthem of the year. Kevinho was the second artist with the most nominations at the awards, alongside Pabllo Vittar.
The singer never shared what happened to him, preferring to avoid controversy, but neglecting other artists in the 2022 edition changed his thinking. “I’ve kept this to myself for years because I hate controversy, but seeing it happen to different artists every year is unacceptable. I will never step on that ‘award’ again,” he declared.
