Lamar Odom managed to drag ex-wife Khloé Kardashian into the 2022 Oscar drama and speculated they would still be together if he’d defended her the way Will Smith did Jada Pinkett Smith.
“If I had protected my wife from hurting her mentally, emotionally and spiritually, I might still be married,” Odom, 42, wrote on Instagram Tuesday after Smith, 53, called Chris Rock over a joke about Pinkett Smith, 50 , had beaten show at Sunday’s awards ceremonies.
“He loves his wife,” the former NBA player added of the actor. “I do not condone violence against anyone. @willsmith loves @jadapinkettsmith I’ve been told love covers a multitude of sins.”
Odom has confessed to many wrongdoings in the years since he and Kardashian, 37, split, and told Us Weekly in 2017 that he had cheated throughout their marriage.

“Bitches and THOTs came from the woodworks,” he explained at the time. “If there’s one thing I regret about being married, it was having multiple affairs with different women. That wasn’t the stand-up thing. I wish I could have kept my d-k in my pants.”
Odom wrote Tuesday that he believes Smith was simply trying to be a good husband to Pinkett Smith, even when the “King Richard” star did poorly.

“I see everyone arguing about the merits of this argument, taking sides and dragging them both to hell when all it comes down to is love,” he continued on his Instagram post. “He loves his wife. She was hurt, it’s a man’s responsibility to protect his wife. He swore that to God and to her, he owes us ZERO an explanation as to why he chose to meet @chrisrock.”
While the athlete said he didn’t slap the 57-year-old Rock for a joke, he understands why Smith “has done what a husband is called to do” — and that means, according to Odom, “his wife first and foremost to everyone.” protect her, he causes her pain.”

Kardashian filed for divorce from Odom in December 2013 after four years of marriage, but she withdrew the papers after he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel in October 2015. She helped him recover before moving forward with the divorce, which was finalized in December 2016.
The ex-Laker – who just last month said he’s trying his best to reconnect with Kardashian – knew what it felt like to have a marriage dissected by the public – and urged fans to share their verdict on the Oscar – hold back spectacle.
“Last time I checked that we (the peanut gallery 😳) don’t have a heaven or hell to put someone in. The same thing that makes you laugh will bring you to your knees. Just sending good vibes,” he concluded his post.
Smith apologized Monday for his “unacceptable and inexcusable” behavior, while Pinkett Smith called for a “cure” on Tuesday. Rock has not yet commented on the incident.
