According to the statement, the alleged victim and Demas “had an intimate relationship for a year.”

Since then, the Texas A&M athletics department has announced that Demas is no longer participating in the program.

“Demund Demas has been suspended by the university,” said a spokesman for the department. “Athletics follows all university protocols and procedures, and it is not with our football program.”

Demas had previously been accused of hitting a girlfriend last year when a woman approached the Chronicle, claiming that the successor had hit her daughter, with whom he was dating at the time.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Brazos County prosecutors refused to press charges and he was never arrested.

Demas was also mysteriously absent from two Aggies games last season, but coach Jimbo Fisher did not explain his absence and eventually allowed Demas to return for the Orange Bowl victory over the University of North Carolina.

The former five-star rookie has also faced charges of marijuana in Texas.

Although he was a highly touted talent coming out of school, Demas had only 15 catches as a freshman in a red shirt last season, only one of which was for a touchdown.
