Rock, 57, was presenting the award for Best Documentary on Oscar Sunday when he turned to Pinkett Smith, 50, noting her bald head and said: “Jada I love you GI Jane 2 can’t wait to see him.” which rolled Pinkett Smith’s eyes and eventually resulted in her husband going to Rock and slapping him in the face.
Enzo Angileri, the hairstylist responsible for Demi Moore’s buzz cut in the 1997 film GI Jane, told Page Six he didn’t understand why she reacted that way to the joke … but also admitted he didn’t know she did had alopecia.

She has had a shaved head look ever since, and Angileri commented on her Oscar look: “I thought she looked amazing, so majestic. I thought it was a beauty choice…I’ve never seen her prettier.
The hairstylist, who won an Emmy for The Life and Death of Peter Sellers in 2005, added that he found Rock’s joke “cute” and “benevolent.”

Smith apologized with a statement he posted to Instagram Monday that began, “Violence in all its forms is toxic and destructive.
“My behavior at the Oscars last night was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s health was too much for me and I reacted emotionally,” Smith added.
“I want to apologize to you publicly, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I’m embarrassed and my actions were no indication of the man I want to be. In a world of love and kindness there is no place for violence,” he continued.
