Although they were not nominated or asked to present an award, Jada Pinkett-Smith became one of the great protagonists of the latest installment of the oscars. A joke about his alopecia in the mouth by Chris Rock aroused the anger of the husband of the actress of the Matrix saga. Will Smithwho not only went on stage to slap him, but also shouted very angry and shouted at him not to talk about his wife anymore.
Pinkett-Smith, 50, opened up about the condition that caused her to lose large amounts of hair in 2018, calling the experience “terrifying.”
Meanwhile, last December, she shared a post in which she was completely shaved. “Mom is going to have to cut her hair to the scalp so no one thinks she had brain surgery or something. This alopecia and I are becoming friends… period!” he said. “I’ve been battling alopecia and one day I’m suddenly looking at this line. Look at that,” he pleaded, pointing to a scar-like part of his scalp where he has no hair. “He showed up like that and it’s going to be a little harder to hide; So I thought I’d share it so they wouldn’t ask me questions.”
Although in that clip he appeared to be approaching the subject in a very good mood, his statement made it clear that what was happening to him was difficult to accept. For this reason, her face was changed after Rock, invited to present the Oscar for Best Documentary at the last Oscars, mentioned that the actress was ready to star in the second part of GI Jane, the film in which 1997 to see a shaved demi was Moore. What followed is already well known: Smith’s violent reaction and a controversy that created a tense atmosphere throughout the rest of the ceremony.

The apology came after Smith’s apology during his acceptance speech for his work on King Richard: A Winning Family.

“Violence in any form is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at the Oscars last night was unacceptable and inexcusable. Being taunted is part of the job, but a mockery of Jada’s health was more than I could take and I responded emotionally.” Smith later dedicated his words directly to Rock, adding, “I want to publicly apologize to you, Chris . I crossed the line and I was wrong. I am ashamed of what I have done and my actions are not in line with the man I want to be. In a world of love and kindness there is no place for violence.”
In another section of the voluminous text, the Men in Black protagonist continues, “I also want to apologize to the Academy, to the producers of the show, to all the contestants and to those who watched it around the world. I also want to apologize to the Williams family and my King Richard family. I deeply regret that my behavior spoiled what would otherwise have been a beautiful trip for all of us.. I’m still a ‘work in progress’. Sincerely, Will.” The post came just an hour after other important news broke: the Academy’s decision to launch a “formal investigation” into the matter and to consider possible sanctions against Will Smith.
The truth is, many expected Pinkett-Smith to make a statement on the matter, and she finally did on Tuesday, albeit in a very short time. “This is a healing time and that’s why I’m here,” the actress wrote on her Instagram account.
