Demi Lovato admits she’s no longer using “she/her” as a pronoun, showing she’s gone back to “she/her”: “I’m such a fluid person”
Demi Lovato has returned to her pronouns more than a year after coming out as non-binary and adopting her/them pronouns.
Lovato, 29, opened up about resuming the pronouns during an appearance on the Spout podcast, revealing she decided to return after recently “feeling more feminine”.
“I actually took the pronouns of she/her back to me. So for me I’m such a fluid person that I’m not really and I find that I’m not… I felt, especially last year, that my energy was balanced and my masculine and feminine energies so that when I was faced with the choice of going into a bathroom and it said women and men, I didn’t feel like there was a bathroom for me because I didn’t necessarily feel like a woman,” she explained.

“I didn’t feel like a man. I just felt human. And that’s what they’re about. For me, it’s just like feeling human to the core.”
“Lately I’ve been feeling more feminine and have adopted her/her again. But I think what’s important is that nobody’s perfect. Everyone gets pronouns mixed up at some point, and especially when people are studying, it’s all about respect,” she added.

“I will officially change my pronouns to her/them”: Demi came out as non-binary and revealed she/them pronouns in a video posted to Twitter last year
In a video posted to Twitter, Demi said: “I want to take this moment to share something very personal with you.
“For the past year and a half I have been doing some healing and self-reflection work, and through that work I have had the revelation that I identify as non-binary.
“With that being said, I will officially change my pronouns to her/them. I think this best reflects the fluidity I feel in my gender expression and allows me to feel most authentic and true to the person I know I am and am still discovering.

In a Twitter thread accompanying the video, the star added, “Every day we wake up we are given another opportunity and chance to be who we want and want to be.
“I’ve spent most of my life growing in front of you all… you’ve seen the good, the bad, and everything in between.

“My life was not only a journey for myself, I also lived for those on the other side of the cameras.
“Today is a day I’m so happy to share more of my life with you all – I’m proud to announce that I identify as non-binary and will officially change my pronouns to her/them , when I advance
“This has come after much healing and self-reflective work. I’m still learning and digging in, and I don’t claim to be an expert or a speaker. Sharing this with you now opens another layer of vulnerability for me.
“I’m doing this for those out there who haven’t been able to share who they really are with their loved ones. Please keep living in your truths and know that I send you so much love xox (sic).’
