According to authorities, there were 9,097 new corona infections in Lower Austria on Wednesday. Ten deaths were also recorded in the last 24 hours.
In Lower Austria, 709 corona patients were treated in hospitals on Wednesday, nine more than the day before. There were 668 (plus eight) Covid patients in normal wards, 41 (plus one) infected people were treated in intensive care.
The State Health Agency (LGA) announced that 104 intensive care beds were available for corona patients.
74 people infected by corona in Hollabrunn correctional institution
In a prison in the district of Hollabrunn, 74 infected people were registered on Wednesday. There were 13 more than the day before. There were corona clusters with up to 52 people affected in nursing and care centers or nursing homes in the districts of Gänserndorf, Gmünd, Hollabrunn, Horn, Lilienfeld, Melk, Mödling and Tulln, as well as in the city of Krems. In addition, 61 cases of corona (plus 19) were reported at a production company in Scheibbs district.
