The body of an 18-year-old kidnapped from a Walmart parking lot 18 days ago was discovered Tuesday in a remote area of ​​Nevada.

Investigators found the remains of Naomi Irion in a burial site after a tip sent her to the area, the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Wednesday.

DNA evidence collected at the crime scene was used to confirm the remains belonged to the teenager.

Ex-convict Troy Driver, 41, is accused of kidnapping Irion from the Walmart car park in Fernley in the early hours of March 12.

In a criminal complaint filed Wednesday morning, prosecutors charged Driver with “kidnapping and detaining or arresting Naomi Irion in order to commit sexual assault and/or kill her.”

Fernley driver has yet to file a lawsuit. He was released from prison on Wednesday via Zoom.

He first appeared in court on Wednesday before Judge Lori Matheus of the Canal Township Judicial Court, who ruled his bail will remain at $750,000.

The driver appeared in court via video conference call from Lyon County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court again on April 5.
