Moscow, March 30.- Ukraine used a synagogue in Uman as a meeting place for ultra-nationalist formations, Russian Defense Ministry official spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov reported today, quoted by Capital Television.
In violation of the norms of international humanitarian and moral law, the Ukrainian government uses places of religious worship as meeting places, arms supplies and neo-Nazis to engage in hostilities, she said.
Similarly, the Ministry of Defense released photos of the above events taken on the 21st, that is, the day after an intervention by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in the Knesset (Israeli Parliament), the TASS agency said.
Trucks, the load of which was masked with cement bags, were used to bring weapons and materials to the aforementioned synagogue, while buses with the symbol of the transfer of children were used to take them to other areas of Ukraine, the Russian general pointed out.
On the 20th, Zelenskyy denounced an alleged attack on the religious center of Uman in Ukraine’s Cherkasy province, and to add to the drama of the event, stressed that it was a place of pilgrimage for thousands of Israelis every year, Konashenkov said.
In this regard, he clarified that the Russian armed forces avoid attacks on civilian or religious institutions.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation to protect, demilitarize and denazify the population of the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk in south-eastern Ukraine.
