US doesn’t understand what’s happening in Moscow, says Kremlin

“To our regret and even concern, it turns out that neither the State Department nor the Pentagon have any real information about what’s going on in the Kremlin,” he said.

He told the TASS news agency on Thursday that the White House does not understand Russian President Vladimir Putin, the decision-making mechanisms, or the working style of the country’s leadership.

“It’s not just a shame, it’s worrying, because such a complete lack of understanding only leads to wrong decisions, hasty decisions that have very bad consequences,” Peskow said, referring to recent statements by high-ranking Washington officials.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said there was no one among Putin’s advisers who told him the truth; while White House communications director Kate Bedingfield asserted that the command of the Russian armed forces is misleading the head of state, creating tensions with the military.

Peskov commented on March 29 that the dialogue between Russia and the United States is necessary despite US President Joe Biden’s personal insults against his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

The head of the Kremlin’s press service pointed out that communication between Moscow and Washington is not only important for the respective countries, but also has to do with the interests of the whole world.

He warned that “sooner or later” the parties would have to return to discuss strategic security issues, subjects he believed could only be discussed by Russia and the United States.
