Marilyn Manson is suing Evan Rachel Wood for slandering her on charges of sexual assault against him, which Manson said was a “malicious lie.”

Wood was one of several women to make allegations of sexual assault against Manson early last year. Manson’s lawsuit against Wood comes after her documentary “Phoenix Rising,” which premiered at Sundance and debuted on HBO on March 15. “Phoenix Rising” further describes Woods’ allegations against Manson and delves into the passage of Wood’s Phoenix Act, a law that extends the statute of limitations for domestic violence cases in California.
