Pamela Anderson has announced an “intimate” and “final” new documentary on Netflix.
The actor and activist revealed on Instagram that her film, which has been in the making for years, will land in the streamer after the controversial Hulu Pam & Tommy series, which was made without her approval or participation.
The statement reads: “My life. A thousand imperfections. A million misperceptions. Evil, wild and lost. I have nothing to live for. I can only surprise you. Not a victim, but a survivor. And alive to tell the true story. “
The as-yet-untitled documentary comes from director Ryan White, whose credits include the 2019 Netflix documentary series The Keepers and Ask Dr Ruth; Anderson’s son, Brandon Thomas Lee, will be among the producers. It will include exclusive access to Anderson, as well as her personal diaries.
A tweet from Netflix added that the film would “include the pop culture icon who sets the record as she looks back on her professional and personal journey.”
The announcement comes shortly after the launch of Pam & Tommy, a story series that relives the aftermath of an expired sex tape between Anderson and Tommy Lee, starring Lily James and Sebastian Stan.
It is alleged that the production contacted Anderson for her participation, but did not show interest. “I wish it was different,” James said in an interview with Porter, adding that she also contacted Anderson personally. “My only intention was to take care of the story and play Pamela authentically.”
People close to the former Baywatch actor claim that the star is not happy that the project exists. In May 2021, Courtney Love claimed that the show’s existence caused “complex trauma” to Anderson. A source also told Entertainment Tonight that it was “very painful for Pamela Anderson and anyone who loves her.”
