A bear has a whole night in a car

A bear managed to sneak into a car in rural Montana but was unable to open the door to exit and remained stuck in the vehicle throughout the night.

The Plantigrade got into the blue car “just after 11 p.m.” and stayed there “until 7 a.m.,” vehicle owner Mike Pilati told local broadcaster KTVQ last week. .

The bear, a female, was likely foraging for food, although Mr Pilati, who resides in Red Lodge in southern Montana, said he left no food in his blue Subaru.

“Every now and then we heard a cracking noise. I thought he was chewing on a garbage can or something. In fact, it was my car that he was chewing on,” added Mr. Pilati.

Upon discovering the hairy intruder, Mike and his wife Maria called the sheriff, but the sheriff, not understanding the urgency of the situation, told them specialized officers would come the next day.

In order to free the animal, Mr. Pilati then took courage in both hands and opened the door with a stick. “The bear came in growling,” he recalls.

Video captured the scene and then the bear reuniting with her two cubs who were nearby.

Result of the races: a ceiling torn off with claws, a chewed dashboard, a broken windshield and above all… a persistent smell.

“Bears are smelly creatures,” claims Mike Pilati.
