Grease star Olivia Newton John dies aged 73

Actress and singer Olivia Newton-John died this Monday at the age of 73 at her ranch in California (USA), as her family published on their social networks. The statement asked that “the privacy of the family be respected at this very difficult time.” “Olivia has been a symbol of triumph and hope for more than 30 years by sharing her journey with breast cancer,” the statement read. “In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that a donation be made to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund in her memory.”

The British-Australian actress is best known worldwide for her starring role in the 1978 musical film Grease opposite John Travolta. Her role as Sandy catapulted her to fame with songs like “You’re the One that I Want”, “Summer Nights” or “Hopeless Devoted to You”.
