The Nevada club announced this without giving details of the 25-year-old athlete’s salary. TVA Sports hockey pundit Renaud Lavoie reported that the forward will earn $3 million a year.

“I’m very excited to be in Las Vegas for another five years,” Roy said in a video posted to the Golden Knights’ TikTok account. I can’t wait to play for you. Enjoy the end of summer see you soon.”

Roy made a real breakthrough in 2021-2022 with 15 goals and 39 points in 78 games. He previously had 25 points in 85 games with the Carolina Hurricanes and Knights.

The former Chicoutimi Saguenéens, who was drafted in the fourth round by the Hurricanes in 2015, was sent to Vegas in 2019 with a fifth-round pick for 2021 in exchange for Erik Haula.
