Sometimes, and although it shouldn’t be like that, the journalist becomes the story. Such is the case of Juan José Origel, famous for his scathing comments on various TV shows – he started out on Ventaneando more than 25 years ago and later famously “betrayed” the fearsome Pati Chapoy by turning from one day to the next left for Televisa , company in which he has remained constantly, giving news and sometimes (unashamedly) starring in them, as was the case with his brawls with Flor Rubio, how criticized he was for going to Miami to getting vaccinated against COVID when you couldn’t in Mexico and what’s happening to him now.

In his program “Con Permiso”, which is broadcast on pay TV and in which he shares credits and a table with the renowned writer and journalist Martha Figueroa, Origel, famous for his nonchalance, his mischievousness and his suggestive way of making the tones to let go explained that his close friend, the eminent diva Silvia Pinal, has already put her inheritance affairs in order and that he too will benefit from the big star’s generosity.

what how? Oh well. The most popular social media columnist and celebrity commentator in Mexico said that the protagonist of “Viridiana” had already promised him that she would inherit the famous Diego Rivera painting of the actress from 1955 and that it was one of the most famous The culture of Mexico in the 20th century.

According to Origel, he would inherit the artwork if the actress died, but this contrasts with statements she herself previously made at an open mic on Maxine Woodside’s Todo para la mujer in 2018. In this interview, the actress, the last survivor of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema (Ignacio López Tarso is older but started his film career many years later), revealed that the painting, in which she appears very young and dressed in black, is part of the inheritance that he will leave to his children Alejandra and Luis Enrique Guzmán and Silvia Pasquel, his eldest daughter.

“The painting is in the Museo Estudio de Diego Rivera, it will remain on display there, although the property belongs to my children, that is, on loan, my children give it to the Casa de Diego, they are insured, usually when they lend to others Museums have the insurance.”

On the other hand, the Nation’s Cultural Heritage Protection Act means that certain works by artists who are considered part of the nation’s cultural heritage, such as Diego Rivera or Frida Kahlo, cannot be sold or inherited privately or publicly, or taken out of the country without permission from the Ministry of Culture, the National Institute of Fine Arts and in some cases the National Institute of Anthropology and History. For this reason, La Pinal had the original housed in the museum, where it enjoys all institutional protection, and for this reason there are also, as far as is known, at least two replicas of the painting.

One of them is an exact replica that hangs in the dining room of the Pinal residence in the exclusive enclave of El Pedregal, which he had made to protect the painting and which is completely identical, while there is another also owned by Pinal , that of set designers at Televisa to be part of the props for their show Woman: Cases of Real Life for more than two decades.

This work was given to the actress and producer when the show ended and she later loaned this replica (which is not as accurate as the one she has at her home, made from the sketches of the original painting) . Along with the work, Rivera gave her a gift) similar to the production of Carla Estrada for her bioseries in 2018.

So far, neither Silvia nor her offspring have commented on Origel’s statement, which said: “I would lend the painting to a museum, but it is mine.” However, sources close to Silvia Pinal’s office said they didn’t know anything about the alleged inheritance since the actress officially made her distribution of assets and legacies in life a long time ago and the only official version she herself said was the Spike is in the Woodside program, although it is said in entertainment circles that “Pepillo” is likely to receive a posthumous gift from the actress, although clearly and for several of the reasons outlined above it would not be Rivera’s original (which is priceless), but certainly one of the existing replicas.
