Helen Rhodes died on the flight from Hong Kong to Britain – her children and her husband had to sit helplessly beside the body.
A terrible tragedy recently occurred on a flight from Hong Kong to England. The British Rhodes family moved with this flight – Simon and Helen spent 15 years in Hong Kong and now wanted to return home with their young children Nathan and Emma.

Unfortunately, Helen, who was so anxious to see her relatives and friends, would never find her again: the nurse died in her sleep during the flight. After her husband and children realized she was no longer responding, rescue measures were taken immediately but were unsuccessful. Terrible: In the remaining eight hours of flight to the stopover in Germany, Simon Rhodes and his children had to sit next to their dead mother.
“Traumatic Experience”
“While it was an extremely traumatic experience for all of them,” writes a family friend on a fundraising page, “at least they had the opportunity to tell Helen everything they wanted to tell her.” The British woman’s body remains for now in Germany, where an autopsy can be performed. The other three Rhodes flew to Britain alone.
