Hebe Camargo (19292012) was able to experience in her life the luxury and glamor that she could not experience in her youth when she was a poor girl living in Taubaté, in the interior of São Paulo. In a chat on the Youtube channel of Johanna Mariaa Brazilian living in Iceland who is the biggest hit of the internet, the son of Hebe, Marcello CamaroShe says glam doesn’t suit her personality: “I’m rather humble, humble, I live in a small town in the country [Santa Fé do Sul, em São Paulo]“. Media reported that the inheritance left by the presenter would be worth around R$60 million and was divided between Marcello and Claudio Pesutti (19502021), Hebe’s manager for 17 years and whom she considered her son. Something that was vehemently denied by Marcello:

It’s all a legend! (…). Where is all this heritage? If anyone finds it, I’ll share it! There is no such legacy Marcelo Camargo

In an interview with the YouTuber, Camargo says he lives in a house “that’s good but not as big” as his mother’s. After triumphing in her career and even being present in crucial and historical moments both on television and in Brazilian history, the diva gave herself the chance to enjoy what was rightfully hers. Explaining how he compiles his current income, the heir reiterated that the presenter’s mansion, which made the most of the residence during his lifetime, became a white elephant: “It is very difficult to sell. I have an income which of course she left, but nothing crazy. For example, I’m not going straight to New York. The last time I traveled was in 2014. People think I’m awash with money. My mother has invested everything in her house!” emphasizes Marcello Camargo.

Camargo says that in order to enlarge her home, his mother bought the houses in the neighborhood and included them in her development, which was as luxurious as it was expensive. After his death, the management of the estate passed to his businessman Cláudio Pessutti (19502021), who was also his nephew. Marcello points out that maintaining such a large house was difficult for Cláudio: “Claudio and his wife Helena worked hard to maintain it. He died in a very complicated (financial) situation,” he reveals.

Marcello emphasizes that he was very sorry for the death of Pessutti, victim of Covid19. According to him, the relative was his safe haven. He was also responsible for managing the collection of the TV muses, which is now in the care of two confidants of the late presenter: part of his guardianship was under the management of the jeweler Lydia Sayegand another with Evaldo Pereirafamily friend.

And Marcello was very pleased with the response of the program “Café com selinho” that he presents on the channel of the same name, on YouTube, as well as on TV Aberta São Paulo, a community channel in the capital of São Paulo Proposal, a light and mild to have, contrary to what is broadcast in police programs. And in the style consecrated by his mother. In fact, the program has a fundamental importance in the show he presents. A photo of the matriarch is highlighted in the scenario, in which she also suggests demystifying some stories related to the TV muse. One of them relates to the name Hebe:

Some say her name is Hebe Maria or Hebe Maria Monteiro Ravagnani… No! The wrong name even appeared in her biography. Her name is just Hebe Camargo Marcello Camargo

The interview she gave exclusively to influencer Joanna Maria was shown on the channel of the communicator, who lives in Iceland with her husband but keeps coming back to Brazil to visit her family in Vitória (ES). Iceland’s wife Olafur Gislason She has lived in the Nordic country for 15 years and has since been married to the engineer who is a civil servant there. On her channel, she shares content focused on lifestyle, fashion, beauty and behavior, and of course talks about the cultural specifics of Iceland, a European island country home to 343,000 people. It is in the northern region of the continent, northwest of the island of Great Britain and southeast of Greenland. Its capital is the city of Reykjavik and it is surrounded by the waters of the North Atlantic. And Joanna just premiered a picture on RedeTV’s show Estrelas na TV! do Espírito Santo, recorded and edited by her directly from Iceland.

DECEPTION WITH FILM ABOUT HEBE

Although he approved with praise the musical made in his mother’s honor that he directed Miguel Falabellaand also to have had much appreciation for the journalist’s literary biography Arthur Xexeo (19512021), Marcello doesn’t say the same about the film, which honored or tried to honor his mother played by Andrea Beltrao. In the interview with influencer Joanna Maria, he sharply criticized the feature: “At that time I gave Cláudio the rights and he allowed a beautiful musical to be made, just like a book signed by Xexéo. We thought the film would follow in the same order.” The heir, who was an only child, describes his displeasure:

I found it disappointing, repulsive. (…) Unfortunately, the film that came out was a horror. It had nothing to do with Hebe (…). This one (from the movie) was completely fictitious. The film was a surprise for me. And a very nasty surprise Marcello Camargo

Due to his dissatisfaction with the film, which would later become a series, Marcello felt compelled to give a workshop, an interactive lecture, to remember his mother’s memory in his own way, with the privilege of ” defending her pain to whoever it hurts.” A lot of people might be thinking, ‘Oh, Hebe must be happy with the film… And I say never! I know my mother like the back of my hand and I know she must be outraged by the film. I can’t allow this picture of her. (…) My mother hated whisky, for example.” for a long time Mauricio FariasAccording to her son, the presenter always appeared with a glass of drink in her hand.

Marcello tells the Icelandicborn communicator that he didn’t see the cuts of the film, only the finished project. And he was disappointed with what was delivered, especially since he was the diva’s only child and didn’t see her properly represented in his eyes. The “character” frustrates him, and not just him: “People close to Hebe hated it too. (…) This is a vulgar Hebe, reeling (because she was drunk). Never! My mother liked to drink at parties, but not at work. She was extremely professional, never admitting to being late or making the audience wait (…) and she never threw a microphone on the floor”. And goes on:

The film is the antithesis of Hebe Marcello Camargo

On another occasion to Jornal Extra, Camargo had already bluntly criticized the film for discussing his sexuality, which never happened: “I never wanted to talk to her about sexuality”. Contrary to what is also present on the tape, Marcello claimed to have a cordial relationship with his stepfather, Elio Ravagnani (19222000): “We were not enemies”.

THE BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES OF THE MOTHER

Outside of what is usually attributed to Hebe, attributes that even open this article, the TV pioneer’s son, still in the interview with Joanna Maria, opens up about the simplest memories he had with his mother. One of them was the presenter’s last appearance in a football stadium. She, a Sao Paulo supporter, went to Morumbi Stadium just to see it neymar playing in the final of the Campeonato Paulista that year, 2012, the year he would die. Another, also related to football, concerned an episode where, on Mother’s Day, the boy decided to watch the final of the Campeonato Paraibano instead of staying with his mother. Hebe didn’t mind: “I want you to be happy! If you’re happy there, I’ll be happy here,” he said.

Another memory highlighted was the presenter’s 80th birthday being celebrated at Disney: “We left in the first car of the Disney parade! (…) My mother wore a dress in the colors of Brazil, the driver said she couldn’t get up but she did, she was seen and cheered on by Brazilian fans. It was the most Brazilian Disney stopover possible,” he concludes.
