Venezuela’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Faría, described this Friday as In violation of the United Nations Charter and international law, the hijacking of the plane and crew of the state carrier Aerocargo del Sur (Emtrasur) in Argentina.
Via his official account on the Twitter platform, the Foreign Minister stressed that this action violated Venezuela’s sovereignty and, accordingly, violated the principles of the international order.
In this sense he expressed that “we raise our voice against the imperial policy of intervention” when he refers to it United States (US) intention to appropriate the plane and its 19-person crew between Venezuelan and Iranian pilots, who have been detained in Buenos Aires since June 8.
This is without accusing them of any crime or justifying any arguments other than accepting by the Argentine judiciary an order from a US court in Florida to impound the plane..
These events were criticized by the highest leadership of the Venezuelan government, personalities and institutions of various kinds, and the population in general.
In this regard, the President of the Bolivarian Republic, Nicolás Maduro expressed his outrage, called for an end to the abuses against his country and asked for the support of the Argentine people and trade unions against this action aimed at depriving Venezuela of its wealth..
He pointed out that “the Argentine authorities have not taken any action to restore legality, although the occupation has not committed any crime, either in Argentina, in Venezuela, or anywhere in the world.”
While, The National Assembly (AN), with the unanimous support of its 277 MPs, has approved an agreement, delivered this Thursday at the Argentine Embassy in Caracas, calling for the immediate delivery of the Emtrasur cargo plane.
My full support for the agreement endorsed in the AN, which rejects US intentions to illegally seize the Venezuelan plane hijacked in Argentina. We will not rest until we find what is ours again. Venezuela is respected! We are united against injustice. pic.twitter.com/G1SqOSvhKJ

The same position was taken by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and its highest representatives; among them the first vice-president Diosdado Cabello, who emphasized this “We ask nothing other than that it conforms to international law (…) It is a Venezuelan plane hijacked by Argentina with the whole intention of confiscating an asset of all Venezuelans.”.
Faced with the prolongation of the kidnappings, the Venezuelan people have mobilized since last Tuesday to oppose the policy of intervention and the theft of their assets abroad.
