The Kremlin: There will be no gas supply disruptions until at least the second half of April
Russia does not shut off the gas supply immediately to “enemy” countries that do not comply with the obligation to pay in rubles From this Friday. Thus, as the Kremlin has clarified, there will be no changes at least until the second half of April.
“The Payments for current deliveries are not made todaybut in the second half of the month or even in early May,” Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said a day after Vladimir Putin signed the decree with the changes, the TASS news agency reports. Peskov explained what The said decree does not foresee any changes in terms of delivery this Fridayalthough Moscow expects there will be cuts if the countries that have been imposing sanctions in recent weeks don’t stop paying for contracts in dollars or euros, as they have been doing so far.
Russia received nearly $10,000 million thanks to gas exports in January and according to the Interfax news agency, nearly 6,000 of those million corresponded to twenty countries classified as “hostile”. This sample includes Germany, France, Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, the Netherlands, Macedonia, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
