As a comment, a user presenting himself on his profile as a student and political activist based in Karachi, Pakistan had written: “Don’t worry, you’re next”. After the message was deleted, the author posted a screenshot to warn Twitter of a Community Guidelines violation.
Police spokesman for Scotland, where JK Rowling lives, said: “We have received information about an online threat and our officers are investigating.”
JK Rowling has already threatened
As early as 2021, the author had claimed to have received death threats from transgender activists. The transgender community railed against JK Rowling in 2020 when she published an article about “people who menstruate”. She later commented wryly, “I’m sure we should have a word for these people. Someone help me. Feum? Famme? Feemm?”.
