Robert Pattinson reveals he “counts sips of water” to get in shape to play Batman

Robert Pattinson only had a few months to get in shape to play Bruce Wayne / Batman in Batman, revealing some of his intriguing techniques.

The 35-year-old Londoner has revealed some of his fitness secrets for getting into Batman shape in a new interview with People.

The former Twilight heartthrob revealed that one of his techniques is even limiting sips of water to make his body stand out so much more.

“I had about three months before the movie started, and then you train before and after work all the time,” Pattinson revealed.

“You just cut and cut and cut before a few scenes with your shirt off and counting sips of water,” the actor added.

The technique of counting sips of water is used in amateur wrestling for weight loss and by bodybuilders before a big show.

An article on muscle and fitness recommends that on the day of the show, a bodybuilder simply take “small sips” of water before considering a technique that Pattinson reflects on Batman’s appearance.

Although he only had a few months to get in shape, he revealed that “Shame is my biggest motivator, 100%.”

When Pattinson was not without a shirt in the film, he was often in his iconic Batsuit, revealing that it helped him connect with the character even more.

“It’s funny because you’re reading the script and spending a lot of time trying to figure out, ‘How can I play this character who’s doing such a daring thing?'” Pattinson began.

“And the closer I got to the pictures, the more paranoid I became – you know, it’s ridiculous when you’re just sitting at home in a T-shirt – and then you put it on. It has elemental power, “he added.
