Jean-Philippe Dupont-Cormier, a 37-year-old man, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of firearms, possession of prohibited devices, manufacture of firearms, use of counterfeiting, illegal possession of firearms and misdemeanor, police said.

The strike, conducted by the Integrated Arms Trafficking Team (EILTA), resulted in the seizure of two homemade semi-automatic weapons, a rifle and several parts and tools intended for firearms manufacture.

Also seized on the spot were about 5,000 rounds of ammunition, 29 pounds of powdered ammunition, and about forty 30- or 40-round high-capacity magazines.

The police operation was made possible thanks to information from the population, the police said.
