Although we still have two days from now to find out who doesn’t know about Apple’s new comedic fool The afterpartya serious question about the future of the show has been answered – ie. whether he will receive a second season in the company’s streaming service.

Yes!

This is stated in a press release issued by AppleTV + today, revealing that the series that jumps between series of genres as Detective Danner of Tiffany Hadish tries to figure out who got Dave Franco dirty – has been renewed for a second season.

Given that we don’t know how the mystery of the first season will end – apparently one big witness remains for an interview, in whatever artistic style they deem appropriate – it’s hard to say what the second season of the show will be like. An easy guess would be to go to Agatha Christie /Remove the knives with him, however, following Hadish’s detective to a new case, probably equipped with a new set of comedy bells.

The afterparty was created by Christopher Miller, from prolific Duet Miller and Lord. (Phil Lord serves as the project’s executive producer, but Miller is in charge of writing and showrunner duties throughout the first season.) In addition to Hadish and Franco, the first season of the show also features Sam Richardson, Zoe Bye, Ike Barinholz, Ben Schwartz, Ilana Glaser and Jamie Demetriu, like the various murder suspects after the high school reunion party, was confused.

Our answers to The afterparty were as mixed as the show’s own experiments with genre and tone; the best outing is the one you focus on The ambitious musician of Schwartz, who turned the show into a Crazy ex-girlfriend– TV musical in style. But “psychological thriller” and “police procedures” and comedy can be a strange mix, as the show has he was tormented to balance at different points.

Even so: this is an interesting experiment (and a hell of a cast), so we can’t feel sorry for Apple and Miller for takes another attempt.
