Logan Paul made his professional wrestling debut at WrestleMania 38, successfully defeating the legendary Rey Mysterio. Paul teamed up with The Miz to take on father-son duo Rey and Dominick Mysterio in a tag team match.
Paul followed in the footsteps of Bad Bunny, Pat McAfee and Stephen Amell by delivering the goods in a celebrity crossover match. The social media superstar enjoyed the boos from fans at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Saturday night. He even went to the ring with the world’s most expensive Pokémon card around his neck.
Paul’s athleticism was on full display as he executed a number of moves well, including a middle rope blockbuster, a power slam on Dominick and a suplex on Rey.
Paul also took his licks, notably absorbing a double 619 and a frog splash just before the end of the fight.
The divisive internet personality stirred up crowds by mimicking the idiosyncrasies and moves of the late Eddie Guerrero, a beloved WWE Champion and close friend of Rey’s.
Taking advantage of the late match chaos, The Miz tagged in and placed Mysterio with a skull crushing finale for the win. Paul’s celebration was short-lived. The Miz turned on Paul and dropped him with a finisher that immediately turned the crowd’s reaction from boos to sheer enthusiasm.
WrestleMania 38 is a two-night event taking place on Saturday April 2nd and Sunday April 3rd at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
