Ukraine does not trust peace

These could be the defining days in the Ukraine war and no one really knows what they mean. As Russian troops are withdrawing from various parts of Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj expects heavier fighting in the south of the country. He warned of impending fighting in the eastern region of Donbass and in the southern port city of Mariupol.

Klitschko: “Wait for the next few weeks”

And even in the capital Kiev, the violence still seems to be over. Mayor Klitschko warned the Ukrainians who fled not to return to Ukraine anytime soon.

“The risk of dying in Kiev is quite high.” There could be a bomb attack at any moment, Klitschko told British TV channel Sky. There are still day and night air alerts of Russian missiles.

Klitschko therefore advises his compatriots who want to return: “Wait and see how the situation in Ukraine and Kiev develops in the coming weeks. Please give yourself a little more time.” (sst)
