Planes performed stunts through the Chicago skies this Saturday (20) in the return of Chicago Air and Water Show presentations, which have been banned due to the Covid19 pandemic.
The show was timed to feature the Blue Angels, the US Navy’s flight demonstration squadron, as well as the Golden Knights, the US Army’s parachute performance team.
F22 fighter jets flew overhead while the P51 aircraft brought a piece of WWII history to the city.
Spectators filled the viewing areas despite the threat of rain and thunderstorms looming over the weekend weather forecast. However, a brief waterfall brought celebrations to a temporary halt on Saturday.
The Chicago Air and Water Show is the largest free show of its kind in the United States, according to the show’s website.
