Camila Cabello has broken her silence after photos were taken of her in a bathing suit this weekend.
The 25-year-old singer was photographed in a bikini in Miami, Fla. and posted to criticize her “cellulite” and alleged “overweight”.
“Every time I go to the same beach club in Miami, the paparazzi take a picture of me. Somehow the paparazzi find out when I arrive and take pictures of me in a bikini and every time I’ve felt vulnerable and unprepared – I’ve been wearing bikinis that are too small and not paying attention to how I look, then I see the photos online and comments and I get very bad,” he wrote.
“Any time it affects my self-esteem, I think it’s the culture’s thoughts and not my own. A culture that has become accustomed to seeing a “healthy” body for many women as one that is not real.”
“Photoshop, restrictive eating, too much exercise, choosing angles that make our bodies look different from their natural state. When we breathe, when we eat, when we let the waves of the sea wash over us. I try to remember it, listen to intuitive eating podcasts, follow women who accept their cellulite, their stretch marks, their bellies, bloating, their fluctuating weight… and still do,” she continued. “I’m a single woman in my 20s who does a lot of publicity for my projects, and I want to feel ‘good’.”
