Gov. Greg Abbott has sent more than 1,000 migrants from Texas to New York City as part of his initiative to bus freed illegal immigrants out of his state.
Abbott spokeswoman Renae Eze told that 20 buses have departed from Texas for the Big Apple so far, with more to come.
As of Monday, more than 7,200 migrants have departed from Texas for Washington, DC, in more than 175 busloads.
Pictures are emerging weekly of more buses arriving at the Port Authority in New York City and disembarking migrants after their journey from the Lone Star State.
While another bus full of migrants arrived in New York City on Sunday, other migrants, some of whom had previously boarded the bus from Texas, lined up outside Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx to receive health insurance, groceries and other items.
Among the items migrants received were school supplies and free phones, according to The New York Post.
The now more than 1,000 migrants who have arrived in the city have voluntarily made their way north, Abbott’s office claims.

They are part of an initiative launched in mid-April to send migrants to Washington, DC and New York City to help quell the impact of the southern border crisis on border communities. Another goal is to bring the crisis to the doorsteps of decision-makers in America.
In total, more than 4,000 migrants have arrived in the five districts in recent weeks, putting a strain on the already overburdened accommodation system.
Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey followed Abbott’s example in May by beginning to send migrants who entered his state illegally to the nation’s capital.
NYC Mayors Eric Adams and DC Muriel Bowser are decrying the program and calling for outside help — including from the National Guard.

Sunday’s Lincoln Hospital event, dubbed a “day of resources and family fun,” was organized by the city’s hospital system for migrants and their children, including those who have arrived on buses from Texas in recent weeks.
A migrant waiting in line for ice cream told the Post he arrived on a bus from Texas five days ago and saw a flyer for the event at the Bellevue Men’s Shelter.
Migrants arriving from the border in New York City will be temporarily housed on taxpayer money at the $700 luxury hotel The Row in tourist hotspot Times Square in the coming weeks.
While the migrants will be assigned to gated floors and instructed to use a separate entrance, as tourists who will be charged a maximum amount to stay there, they will still enjoy the luxury of the hotel.

Sources told that up to four floors of the 28-story building will be turned over to the New York City Homeless Services to use as temporary housing for families and individuals being brought from the Texas borders and into “liberal cities.” Arizona’s fed up governors.

Hotel staff said the migrants would use a different entrance for tourists, possibly the business entrance at the back, and would remain separate from other guests on floors dedicated to emergency accommodation. Security would also likely be ramped up, they said.
Staff also said that while “nothing is set in stone,” staff are “all talking about it.”
