Matthew McConaughey talked about the luck he has had with hair growth over the past few decades, revealing that he has used topical ointment every day for the past 20 years to maintain his long locks.
The 52-year-old actor talks to LADBable in an interview published on saturday, he said he had started noticing that he had been losing his hair since the late 1990s.
“You can go back and see things like The Wedding Planner and things,” he said of the 2001 film. Jennifer Lopez. “I mean, you’ll see I lost hair.”

“I got a picture of the Millennium Celebration in 2000 in Jamaica, I looked down and laughed and there was a bald spot the size of a baseball on top of my head,” the actor said.
In his book Greenlights, the Lone Star State-born says he shaved his head amid hair loss.
He told LADBible that after shaving his head, he used a topical ointment on his scalp “once a day for 10 minutes” to stimulate hair growth.

“I was completely committed to it – no Propecia, nothing, it was just manual labor,” said McConaughey, who won an Oscar for Best Actor in 2014 for the Dallas Buyers Club.
McConaughey said he was unfamiliar with the exact science that led to the resumption of hair growth, saying, “All I can tell you is that I’m back – I have more hair now than I did in 1999.”
McConaughey told the LAD Bible that he had been informed by a doctor in Beverly Hills that his name was dropped each year at a hair transplant convention and that a surgeon claimed to have performed hair transplants on the actor on the A-list.
He said Beverly Hills had asked him if he could check his mane, which he promised. ChangesChange

“I said, ‘Yes, man,’ he says, ‘You don’t have transplants,’ I said that, of course I didn’t,” McConaughey said at the exit.
McConaughey said he has remained loyal to the product for decades, adding: “The same thing I rubbed it with, I do today – I will not give up to see if like, ‘Oh, should I do more?’ ? “I will not take this chance.
McConaughey said live! with Kelly in 2017 that he has used Regenix in the past to deal with hair growth problems, according to The Independent.
“I started rubbing my head with this thing called Regenix, and damn it if it doesn’t come back,” he said.
