Today, April 3, 2022, the Santiago de Cuba Provincial Health Surveillance Agency reports that 16 confirmed cases of COVID-19 resulted from a total of 208 processed samples. 100% are locals, 15 people with Cuban and 1 with Italian nationality.
According to the municipalities: Santiago de Cuba reports 11 cases a day, followed by Palma Soriano with 3 cases, II Front and III Front with 1 case each. Of these, 12 contacts are from confirmed cases (9 outside the home and 3 inside the home). No imported cases are reported on this day.
Today 459 people remain hospitalized (161 confirmed COVID 19, 298 suspects and 0 under surveillance). Of the confirmed cases, all belong to the province of Santiago de Cuba.
58 discharges are reported on the day, 22 recovered patients are reported. 169 contacts of positive cases of the day are identified, an average of 11 contacts per patient. By municipality: Santiago de Cuba 129, Palma Soriano 29, II Front 8 and III Front 3.
6 patients are admitted to ICU, 2 reported as critically stable and 4 as serious, all admitted to Ambrosio Grillo Hospital. Of the patients in serious condition, a pregnant woman of 19.3 weeks is reported.
No incidents were reported in pediatric age. No deaths were reported that day. There are 585 deaths in the entire pandemic, 3 in the first phase, 550 in the second and 32 from October 20 to date.
The health authorities recommend maintaining the measures to prevent COVID-19 or other respiratory infections in the office and warn in case of respiratory symptoms such as cough, fatigue, sore throat, headache and muscle aches, fever and sneezing to go to your GP immediately.
