Havana, April 4 (RHC) The XXIII. Edition of the International Food Agroindustrial Fair, Fiagrop 2022, starts this Monday with the presentation of business and investment opportunities, scientific potential and trends in Cuba related to the sector, especially food production.
At its usual venue, Boyeros Agricultural Fair, and after a two-year absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event also showcases the transformations and recovery of outdoor agriculture until next day 10.
Sponsored by the Ministries of Agriculture and Food Industry, Azcuba Sugar Business Group and the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba, the event promotes commercial relations through exhibitions of products and services.
There will also be workshops, conferences, product presentations, a business forum, an auction and a livestock exhibition.
Seven companies from Mexico, Italy, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Belarus and Jamaica will be present, in addition to 51 Cuban companies that will not only present their projects and initiatives in the fervor of the 63 approved measures to stimulate national food production.
The Agricultural Fairs Company’s Fairs and Events Director, Ángel Recio, announced that one of the objectives of Fiagrop 2022 is to show the ongoing projects for the recovery of large and small livestock and the increase in exportable items.
To this end, alongside the Azcuba group of companies, a business forum and seminars on foreign investment in the sector are planned, within which the presentation of the portfolio of opportunities of the Ministries of Agriculture and Food Industry.
A novelty of this edition is the presence of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and non-agricultural cooperatives linked to the sectors represented at the event.
The event also includes a livestock fair with more than a thousand specimens from across the country, animal shows and auctions judged by expert judges who award the most outstanding prototypes of their breed to stimulate genetic improvement in livestock mass.
There is also extensive rodeo activity and the promotion of the results of science, technology and research as part of all efforts to promote food and nutritional security for Cubans.
This edition will have a different profile geared towards commercial activities by showing the sector’s exportable potential, the results of innovation in the context of food and nutrition sovereignty and attractive business and foreign investment opportunities. (Source: Latin Press)
