The legal team that former President Donald Trump assembled to fend off an FBI disability probe could be in trouble if it’s having problems of its own after the Justice Department released an affidavit detailing a “diligent search” of Mar-a- Weeks before agents emerged, a trove of classified material was confirmed.
The most recent Justice Department filing in the case says that the President’s attorney was present during a June 3 visit by FBI agents and a Justice Department attorney to Mar-a-Lago looking for classified material.
Trump attorney Christina Bobb was in Mar-a-Lago during the Aug. 8 FBI raid. The New York Times reported that she is the attorney who signed a statement certifying a “diligent search” for classified government documents.
Trump attorney Christina Bobb reportedly signed a document certifying a “diligent search” of boxes at Mar-a-Lago
Bobb is a former OAN host who blew up the FBI after the August raid — she even said she assumes the FBI would “make stuff up and make up anything they want.” Describing what was at Mar-a-Lago, she said, “There’s just nothing there.”
That statement was contradicted by the filing, which says agents seized 33 boxes containing “over a hundred classified records.”
That June visit came after weeks of back-and-forth and, a file now reveals, a subpoena for the material.
It followed Trump’s return of 15 boxes of material after months of requests from the National Archives.
When the documents were released, “neither the legal counsel nor the supervisor [of records for Trump] “claimed that the former president declassified the documents or made any claim for executive privilege,” the government notes.
Trump and his legal team are now making both arguments, with Trump writing on Truth Social Wednesday, “Luckily I broke the secrecy!”

The filing even describes the attorney’s behavior, saying, “The attorney treated her in such a way that the attorney believed the documents were classified.” The document production is contained on a large envelope ‘double wrapped in tape’.
The Times reported that another Trump attorney, Evan Cocoran, authored the statement that Bobb signed after the FBI’s visit in June, when both attorneys were present.
“Based on the information provided to me, I am authorized to certify on behalf of the Office of Donald J. Trump that: a. The boxes brought to Florida from the White House were carefully searched; b. This search was conducted upon receipt of the subpoena to find any documents responding to the subpoena; c. All relevant documents accompany this certification; and d. No copies, written records or reproductions of any kind have been kept of the relevant documents.’
“I swear or certify that the above statements are true,” the letter concludes. The DOJ put it on the record.

Former President Donald Trump has hired Chris Kise, a former Florida Attorney General, to join his legal team
“Trump and two of his attorneys are in deep trouble for obstruction of justice; and the evidence of Trump’s knowledge grew stronger.” wrote Robert Mueller’s ex-prosecutor Andrew Weissmann.
He predicted prosecutors could try to subpoena the attorneys to ask if Trump authorized the testimony.
Bobb told OAN shortly after the raid there was “nothing there” and said she was “a little confused as to why they would do something so drastic, so disrespectful and so dishonorable, other than the fact that it’s a political tool.” acts. ‘
She said she was barred from watching the search but said members of the FBI “just do stuff.”
She told Fox News on Aug. 12, “We have been very cooperative with the Biden administration and the DOJ and have turned over whatever we found that we had.”
Bobb also sponsored the Arizona Senate’s review of the 2020 election, which ultimately confirmed Joe Biden’s victory in the state.
The filing also notes that the government is investigating a possible obstruction, stating that “government records were likely concealed and removed from a storeroom at the President’s private club following a subpoena.”
It is said that during the June visit, one of the lawyers “specifically prohibited government personnel from opening or looking inside boxes in the storage room beyond what had been provided,” giving the government no opportunity to confirm that no documents were found with non-disclosure marks were left”.
On Tuesday, the day of the government filing, it was announced that Trump was strengthening his legal team and bringing in Chris Kise, a former Florida Attorney General.
Kise advised Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis during his transition, a role he also filled for former Gov. Rick Scott. NBC cites Kise’s reputation as a “political knifefighter.”
He could have his hands full now as the Justice Department has revealed more of his hand — granted special clearance to file a 36-page filing that lawyers turned in just before midnight on Tuesday.
Attorney Jim Trusty has also advised Trump and presented his case on television, which minimized government retention of documents Monday night.
He pointed to the request, revealed in correspondence unsealed by another judge, that the government made during a visit in June to better seal a storage room where documents are kept.
Trusty said there was a “chronology of collaboration” and narrated FoxNews it showed a president who was “accommodating.”
‘The advice [DOJ] came out five days later: “Hey, please put a lock on the door.” I mean, this isn’t the stuff of an urgent nuclear espionage investigation. This is the stuff of an overdue library book.”
Trump hired Trusty to join his team after seeing him on TV, the New York Times reported.
