Human flood in the streets of Buenos Aires in support of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner

Thousands of protesters began mobilizing this Friday in Buenos Aires and other Argentine cities to express their condemnation of the attack suffered by the country’s Vice President Cristina Fernández on Thursday evening.

Social, trade union and political organizations from the ruling party and citizens have marched across the Argentine capital to the Plaza de Mayo in front of the Casa Rosada, the seat of Argentina’s executive branch.

The demonstration is intended to publicly denounce the attack the vice president suffered on Thursday evening when a man of Brazilian nationality approached her, pointed a gun at her and fired twice.

The serious incident happened when Cristina Fernández was returning to her apartment in the Recoleta district of the capital, where militant Kirchnerists were waiting for her.

The demonstration was repeated in other cities in Argentina

After the attack, Argentine President Alberto Fernández issued a message through the national network to deny the fact and declare this Friday a day off for citizens to take to the streets to speak out against the violence.

Solidarity demonstrations with the vice president are repeated in other cities in Argentina.
