Jennifer Walters (Tatyana Maslany) practically needed a fashion intervention from best friend Nikki (Ginger Gonzaga) and some unkind professional advice from his attorney Mallory Book (Renee Elise Goldsberry) to grapple with the chunky suits that have become her trademark since working at GLK&H. However, the joint effort proved successful, because at the end of the episode, the heroine left to get her new costumes from the Superstudio exclusively for Lukas (Griffin Matthews). But there’s more to this scene than a simple transformation.
As Jen tried on the pieces created by the designer, the series revealed that he wasn’t lying when he said he had important clients. Luke complains about his assistant Tinsley’s indiscretion and takes an uncovered box on the counter to one of the corners of his room. Inside was no more, no less than Daredevil’s yellow helm (Charlie Cox), revealed in the trailer for San Diego Comic Con. I mean, Matt Murdock is on his way to Los Angeles!
It’s also worth noting that Luke has made more than just blazers and dress pants to fit Jen and SheHulk’s different sizes. He handed her an extra piece. The show doesn’t quite show what he’s referring to, but from her comment (“I don’t know if I’ll have the opportunity…”) there are two possibilities: Either Luke designed the gala dress that we see her doing in that Wearing in the previews or then we’re faced with the purple and white uniform that was meant to mark the final stages of her acceptance of the superhero life. Let’s face it, the odds are higher that it’s the last option, even more so considering SheHulk appears in this costume in the trailers when she meets Daredevil. But the series never tires of surprising, so who knows.
SheHulk airs on Thursdays Disney+. Before the next episode, watch our interview with actress Tatiana Maslany:
