Jesse Williams’ ex-wife seemingly blasts his parenting amid custody war

It’s “receipt season”.

Jesse Williams’ ex-wife Aryn Drake-Lee took to social media to blast the actor’s parenting decisions after he filed a request for a custody hearing.

“Is it good for the health and well-being of a 7- and 8-year-old to be regularly taken out of school to fly cross-country overnight with a red eye to be grounded for two days?” asked the real estate agent on Instagram on Wednesday.

“Is it reasonable that they return dazed and confused and then be expected to get up and survive the rest of the week at school? I do not think so!”

Drake-Lee continued: “As are the parents who are actually routinely parents. There is a name for the condition of an adult who expects their children to take care of them [sic] and fulfill the wishes of adults at the expense of children…”

The mother-of-two, who shares 8-year-old Sadie and 7-year-old Maceo with Williams, closed with the hashtags “#receiptsseason” and “#ihavstayedquietforfartoolong.”

In March, a Los Angeles judge ruled that Williams would have had his sentence reduced because he was living in New York for his role in the Broadway play Take Me Out.

The actor has been granted four consecutive days with his children – two of which could be weekend days – while working in the Big Apple. However, he was told he couldn’t cancel a date and then “cancel it,” according to documents obtained by TMZ.

It seems Drake-Lee was unhappy with the court’s decision.

Williams claimed in a court filing this week that his ex-wife will not allow their children to return to New York for his second Broadway appearance.

“I recently agreed to appear on the second episode of ‘Take Me Out’ from October 2022 to January 2023,” the Broadway star said, according to documents obtained by TMZ.

“The play is scheduled to begin in October 2022 and run until at least January 2023. I’m going back to New York in early October to start rehearsals. I have asked Aryn to honor the court’s prior order so that I can continue to spend quality time with our children while I am in New York. Aryn declined.”

Williams requested an emergency hearing so he and the children “don’t lose our precious parenting time together.”

The embattled exes have struggled to become parents together since their split five years ago.

In April 2021, Williams and Drake-Lee were ordered to attend high-conflict parenting classes.

Williams representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on Drake-Lee’s social media post.
