Netflix’s new film about Marilyn Monroe, titled Blonde, includes a graphic scene of her being brutally raped by President John F. Kennedy, which has left some viewers unnerved.
Starring Ana de Armas, Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Xavier Samuel, Caspar Phillipson and Julianne Nicholson, the flick recently hit theaters and is set to hit the streaming platform on September 28, 2022; and while it shows some true aspects of the late Hollywood starlet’s life, it is said to be a fictionalized version based on the 2000 novel by Joyce Carol Oate.
The film received backlash after it was revealed that it had received an NC17 rating back in August – meaning children under the age of 17 cannot watch the film, even with adult supervision – largely because de Armas said they didn’t “understand” why he was being given such a stern warning.
However, it has now been revealed that the film contains multiple depictions of sexual assault and violence – including a horrifying fictional scene where JFK, played by Phillipson, forces the actress to perform oral sex on him before pinning and raping her.

During part of the film, Secret Service agents were seen dragging Marilyn to a hotel room where President JFK (played by Phillipson) was waiting for her in bed.
“Am I glad to see you baby. It’s been a hell of a day,” he told her before taking her hand and tucking it down her pants.
The President then grabbed the back of Marilyn’s head and forced her to orally fuck him for over a minute and a half while the camera was trained on her shocked face – all the while calling her a “dirty shit”. ‘ and told her things like, ‘Baby don’t be shy, come on.’
“Don’t puke. Don’t cough. Don’t choke. You have to swallow,” a voice could be heard saying in Marilyn’s head before JFK ejaculated into her mouth.
After that, the President threw Marilyn on the bed and jumped on her as she let out a loud scream.
The scene then shows her waking up in bed with bruises all over her body before running to the bathroom to throw up.
Vulture described the moment as “incredibly tense, disturbing, extremely uncomfortable and exploitative,” while people on Twitter called it “disgusting” and “unnecessary.”
“The graphic rape scene in Blonde is not for art. It serves to invent fantasies about a dead woman who once said not to joke with her,” wrote one Twitter user.
Now it has been revealed that the film will contain a scene where JFK pins Marilyn and rapes her. JFK and Marilyn are seen alongside his brother Robert Kennedy in 1962
The graphic scene also shows the President forcing Marilyn to perform oral sex on him while calling her a “dirty s**t”. De Armas is featured in the film
“I have nothing against biopics that lean towards Farcish, but inventing rape scenes to add to the story that’s meant to critique sexualization just feels exploitative,” said another.
“For example, how do you criticize the sexualization and dehumanization of Marilyn when you do exactly that, when you fake events that, as far as we know, never happened?”
Another person added: “I’m sorry but it’s exploitation. The woman is dead and you use that as an excuse to show her naked half the time and practically turn it into a torture porn film.
“The men who seem to be supporting this film really just seem to want to see Ana De Armas naked. Yes, great analysis of Marilyn’s life.”
“I can’t believe Ana De Armas thinks Marilyn would be happy with this RAPE FANTASY FANFIC written and filmed about her,” another tweeted.
“This entire book could have been written without using Marilyn as a character. Let the woman rest in peace, Hollywood.”
The film also reportedly includes a scene where film producer Darryl F. Zanuck rapes Marilyn, as well as a vaginal shot.
Vulture described the scene as “incredibly tense, disturbing, extremely uncomfortable and exploitative,” while people on Twitter called it “disgusting” and “unnecessary.”
The film first drew backlash in August after it was revealed that it had received an NC17 rating — particularly as de Armas said she “didn’t understand” why
She said: “I can point you to a number of shows or films that are a lot more explicit and have a lot more sexual content than Blonde.”
Director Andrew Dominik previously defended the film to Screen Daily, saying: “It’s a challenging film. If the audience doesn’t like it, that’s the fucking audience’s problem. She is not running for public office.
De Armas echoed his sentiments, telling L’Officiel magazine: “I can point you to a number of shows or films that are much more explicit and have a lot more sexual content than Blondes.
“But to tell this story, it’s important to show all of those moments in Marilyn’s life that led to her ending the way she did.
“It had to be explained. Everyone (in the cast) knew we had to go to uncomfortable places. I wasn’t the only one.”
Marilyn was rumored to be having a consensual love affair with the President, revealed in the previous Netflix documentary The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes.
She sang him Happy Birthday in a very seductive way at a dinner party in 1962 – but she was found dead just months later.
It has been speculated for decades that Marilyn, who died of a “probable drug overdose” at the age of 36, was killed because of her secret romantic relationships with the President – and his brother, Attorney General Robert Kennedy.
