FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is applauding a Florida Chick-fil-A employee who rushed to the aid of a woman who was ambushed by her car.
The woman was retrieving a baby from her vehicle outside the Fort Walton Beach restaurant when a man with a cane approached and demanded her keys, the sheriff’s office said in a press release Wednesday.
The man then tore the keys from the woman’s waistband, opened the vehicle door and got in, the press release said.
Hearing the woman’s cries for help, an employee rushed over to intervene, MPs said.
The employee, identified by the Chick-fil-A operator as Mykel Gordon, got into a physical fight with the suspect, who slapped Gordon in the face, the press release said.
When the two became tangled in the parking lot, others arrived, apparently to help subdue the suspect, a Video shared on Twitter through the sheriff’s office.
