Windows 11 is still rolling out to many eligible devices. Like any company, Microsoft upgrades its computing equipment to adopt the latest operating system.
The giant explains that this upgrade process went smoothly. It took just five weeks for 190,000 computers to roll out Windows 11. The company adds
“The introduction of a new operating system […] naturally led to questions about device downtime and app compatibility. However, with established practices and evolved solutions, historical obstacles are a thing of the past. Microsoft’s introduction of Windows 11 was the most efficient to date, bringing the latest operating system to employees in record time. »
Windows 11 and app compatibility
One of the main concerns during this mission was app compatibility. The giant relied on App Assure to ensure such issues would not arise during and after the Windows 11 upgrade.

“Data from App Assure, a Microsoft service available to all customers with eligible subscriptions, shows the company had 99.7 percent compatibility for all apps in Windows 11, eliminating the need for extensive testing. It also meant that employees’ Windows 10 apps worked seamlessly with Windows 11. Additionally, Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Windows Update for Business eliminated the need for multiple disk images and made it easier to get Windows 11.”
The upgrade process has been broken down into three distinct plans for planning, preparing, and deploying the operating system.
Microsoft recommendations when upgrading a computer park to Windows 11
Microsoft also recommends creating a recovery plan in case something doesn’t work as expected. Note that Windows 11 offers an option to reset within 10 days of installation.
