Meghan Markle gave Prince Harry ‘silent support’ at Queen’s funeral: Expert

Meghan Markle offered Prince Harry “silent support” during Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on Monday, according to a body language expert.

“The best description of Meghan’s body language at the funeral was ‘understated’,” said the body language expert and author Judy James tells Page Six exclusively.

“She seemed to offer her husband a continuation of that silent support as she sat and walked with an expression of dignity and sadness.”

James also noted that the couple’s much-discussed hand-holding, for which they have received some criticism, was “kept to a minimum” although they appeared to touch hands as they walked out of service together.

According to James, the 38-year-old Duke of Sussex appeared to be fighting the most during the service for his beloved grandmother.

“Walk on the side, but far from his brother [Prince William]his furrowed brows and rapid blinking indicated the onset of tears,” James noted.

“As he watched the coffin being unloaded, there were pursed lips, side-to-side rocking and shoulder rolls, which he had previously performed to indicate he was steeling himself emotionally.”

In the end, however, it was Markle, 41, who got visibly emotional at the funeral.

She was photographed gently wiping away tears while her lips trembled as the late Queen’s coffin was transferred to a hearse at Wellington Arch.

The Suits graduate wasn’t the only member of the royal family to shed tears at the monarch’s funeral.

King Charles III was also seen wiping away tears during the service as he sat next to the Queen consort.

Princess Charlotte, 7, was also in tears as the Queen’s coffin was transferred from a gun carriage to a hearse. She was comforted by her mother, Kate Middleton.

It’s been a difficult week for Prince Harry and Markle, who seem to have been treated differently by the royal family since they retired from royal life in 2020.

The pair were invited to a state reception for world and foreign leaders last Friday — and were later not invited.

Page Six exclusively reported that they only found out after reading about the “discharge” in the press.

Prince Harry, who served in the military for 10 years, was also not allowed to wear his military uniform to the Queen’s funeral. The Duke was stripped of his military titles when he retired as a working member of the royal family.
