“In Uzbekistan I met with President Putin and we had very detailed talks with him. And it proves to me that it is ready to end this situation as soon as possible. That was my impression because how things are developing now is quite problematic; 200 hostages are exchanged according to an agreement between the parties. I think it will take “a significant step forward”. So the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğanin an interview with the American TV Pbs, picked up by the Guardian and added that his aim is “to end this struggle with peace”.
“The referendums in Donbass are of great importance not only for the systematic protection of the residents of the Republics of Lugansk and Donetsk and other liberated areas, but also for the restoration of historical justice,” Vice President of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev urges Telegram to hold the annexation referendums in the so-called pro-Russian separatist republics in Ukraine. “The invasion of the territory of Russia is a crime that allows the use of all self-defense forces”Medvedev adds, explaining that this is why the referendums “are so feared in Kyiv and in the West” and “must be held”.
On the other hand, Ukrainian forces sank a ferry carrying Russian troops and equipment across the Dnieper near Nova Kakhovka in the Kherson region. This is reported by the Kyiv Independent.
